Belfast Civic Trust was formed by a group of people concerned about the city and its surroundings.  It is a voluntary, non-profit organisation registered as a charity.

Anyone is welcome to join.  Membership encompasses all walks of life, from layperson to the professional.  We enjoy the support of the Ulster Architectural Heritage Society    and the Belfast Buildings Preservation Trust . Our Committee includes Architects, Planners and Academics as well as concerned Belfast Citizens.

This afternoon, as President of the Trust I thanked the Deputy Lord Mayor, Alderman Ruth Patterson for launching our exhibition The  Story of Belfast in the Ulster Hall, which itself is celebrating 150 years of service to the people of Belfast. I spoke of the history of Belfast, the Linen industry, the Shipyards, CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien and the Great War and the revitalisation of Christian virtue in Early Europe by Columbanus and Gall following the decline of the Roman Empire. The exhibition will be on permanent display on the Lagan Barge.
